Today I share with you a poem that I wrote during a recent trip to my absolute favorite place…the beach. I always feel so close to God there, and I wrote this as an outpouring of worship to Him. I hope you enjoy. The view is going to be screwy–but I can’t seem to fix it!
You speak in the crashing of the ocean waves And in the silent times when the water’s flat You speak in the breeze blowing softly And in the times when the wind blows off my hat
Oh how I wish I could hear Your voice When it feels like You just aren’t there And I wish I could know Your voice When my direction in life seems so unclear
As I sit by the ocean, I marvel at You The way you fashioned the awesome tide As I sit by the ocean, I’m swept away By the knowledge that you are always at my side
Oh how I long to be fully Yours To completely trust in things unseen How I long to never question, only do To not be so caught up in what it all means
You speak in the crashing ocean waves Telling me, “Trust. Be still.” You speak in the gentle, constant ocean breeze You only want ALL of me to do Your will
Your recipe for today? How about something yummy to do with that fresh shrimp from the ocean? Not near the water? No problem! Your local grocery store probably has fresh shrimp. Give this recipe a try! It’s Cajun Shrimp and Sausage Pasta.
